Education and Employability

India after Independence faced a huge challenge of large scale illiteracy mainly due to agrarian background of the population. Educating the masses was big challenge for the Government as there was not much awareness among people about the education and its benefits as this was not considered a priority area by common man. Basic necessities like food, cloth and shelter were the priority areas for people. Bringing up children was first and most worrying factor and education was not at all in the scheme of things of common man barring urban population. The Government has created educational institutions through the length and breadth of the country and lot of impetus was given to literacy. The country traveled a long way since then and literacy rates have increased slowly but gradually. The privatization of education has also resulted into creation of more educational infrastructure and facilities within the vicinity of people thereby increasing the literacy rate.
