KTET 2012 :
ELIGIBILITY/EXAM PATTEN/SYLLABUS/RESULT : Acquiring of Teachers Eligibility Certificate
is essential for becoming a primary teacher in Karnataka. Notifications are
issued from time to time by Department of School Education Karnataka for
conducting of Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test (KTET). TET Certificate with requisite
passed % is compulsory in addition to B.Ed degree for appointment as teacher. Salient
features of Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) – 2012 are as under:
Eligibility : As per rules framed
by National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE), eligibility requirements are
as under :
1.
Teachers from Class 1st to Class 5th : Applicants should
have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) (or equivalent thereto) with at least 45
percent marks. Those appearing in final 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education
/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2 – year Diploma in
Education in Special Education are also eligible. OR Candidates with BA / B.Sc.
with at least 50 percent marks and B.Ed qualification can also apply. The state
Government may at its discretion change eligibility conditions / Requirements.
2.
Teachers from Class 6th to VIIIth : candidates having
B.A. / B.Sc and those appearing in final 2 year Diploma in Education / B.A.
/B.Sc. with minimum 45% marks and passed
/ appearing in B.Ed / Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50 percent marks
and passed or appearing in final 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
/ 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed. or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.) / B.Ed. (Special Education)
with 50 percent in BA or B.Sc are eligible for KTET 2012.
Exam Pattern and Scheme of Exam : KTET 2012 shall
have two objective type papers. Each paper
shall consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions and each question shall be of 1
marks each for 150 marks. Details of papers are as under :
1.
Paper I/1: This paper is for class I-V/1-5
2.
Paper II: This paper is for class VI – VIII/6-8
Those willing to be
teachers for class 1 to 8 have to appear
in paper 1 & 2. Syllabus/Model Question Answer Papers for paper I/1 and
Paper 2/II shall remain as per this exam pattern.
Exam for KTET 2012 : Department of
School Education is the authority concerned for Teacher Eligibility Test within
the state of Karnataka. The department may delegate the authority for
conducting the exam to Karnataka Education Board or any other authority as it
deems fit. Detailed notification for KTET 2012 shall be issue at official
